CAS Reflection

My CAS Reflection

We start our project during the 2 weeks term break. We almost spend our whole 2 weeks of term break doing the project. We came back every day from about 10am to around 5plus to 8plus. Although it was very tiring but I think is worth it as the earliest we finish the less worries we had and if there is any problem we still have the time to amend or redo it. Jeryl only stay with us for about 4 days during the term break as he was going oversea and when he comes backed he had to stay at home for 7 days.

Below are generally the dates and things we did:

Week 1 (during term break)

8th June to 10th June (Mon-Wed) – Discussing or what can’t remember =x.

11th June (Thur) – Opening Balances and part of the source documents of Accounts Receivable.

12th June (Fri) – Finish the rest of Accounts Receivable System.

Week 2 (during term break)

15th June (Mon) – Start Accounts Payable System.

16th June (Tue) – Finish Accounts Payable System and do the General Ledger Form.

17th June (Wed) – Finish the June General Ledger transaction and 1 unique transaction.

18th June (Thur) – Balance Day Adjustment and Recurring Entries.

19th June (Fri) – Check and spot any error in the Accounts Payable System and start doing theory.

Week 3 (after term break)

22th June (Mon) – Found error so we had to redo everything. Finish Accounts Payable opening Balances.

23th June (Tue) – Finish the Accounts Payable transaction for June.

24th June (Wed) – Change any spelling error and do Balance Day Adjustment.

25th June (Thur) – Finish recurring entries.

Week 4 (after term break)

14th July (Tue) – Realised no Accounts Payable payment. Finalised everything, create our logo, finished our theory and print everything.

17th July (Fri) – Project submission, peer evaluation and our blog!

So overall we spend about 15 days to finish the project (if not wrong =p).

I had learned a lot of things when doing the project like teamwork, communication, trusts and to keep calm when there is any problem. Example when we found out that our dates are wrong and we had to redo everything. At this point in time we needs teamwork, communication and etc we cannot be panic.

My job is mostly to make sure that the person typing did not make any typo mistakes and the process is correct. Do some typing. Discuss and solve problem together as a group.

The soft skills that I’ve learned from the group project are effective communication, teamwork, time management, problem solving, assertiveness, ability to react to problem, motivation and etc. This soft skill allows me to do better the next time and in my future.
